#11 – Brazilian Bureaucracy Strikes

Today, our planned departure from Foz de Iguazu to San Fernando hit a snag. With only 4.5 hours of flight time remaining, we arrived at the airport relaxed, expecting a smooth exit. Instead, we encountered Brazil’s notorious bureaucracy.

Two Hours of Paperwork

Checking out of Brazil proved to be a marathon, not a sprint. After completing exhaustive paperwork, customs informed us that the required stamp couldn’t be issued – it was Sunday, and stamps are only available weekdays 😔.

Unexpected Layover

Back to the hotel we went, making the most of the delay. I revisited the breathtaking waterfalls and indulged in the swimming pool’s tranquility. Though inconvenient, being stranded in paradise wasn’t so bad.

Tomorrow’s Resolve

Early morning, we’ll try again, determined to complete the first phase of our journey and reach San Fernando. Stay tuned for our arrival report!
