Yesterday, after almost 8 hours of flight time, I departed Providenciales (MBPV) and arrived in Defuniak Springs (54J), a charming little town in Florida. The departure was a stark contrast to my previous experiences – a true breeze!

Departure
The FBO had all the paperwork ready, and after the usual checks and filing an electronic flight plan, I took to the skies in Diana. The gorgeous coast of the island unfolded before me, and soon, I was treated to a breathtaking spectacle: a succession of stunning islands with vibrant coral reefs, showcasing a dazzling array of blue hues. I felt grateful to have this view, as it was obscured by clouds on my way down south.

Crossing the ADIZ Line
After 4.5 hours of flight time, I landed at Fort Lauderdale Executive (KFXE) for the required customs and migration inspection. Crossing the ADIZ line was exhilarating, and I had revised the interception procedures beforehand, half-expecting to see some F-18s. Although I didn’t encounter any, the experience was still thrilling!

A Human-Made Spectacle
Arriving at the Florida coast was another awe-inspiring moment, this time courtesy of human ingenuity. The towering buildings, the bright sun glinting off the coast, left me mesmerized.

American Efficiency
After a quick and efficient stop at customs and migrations, I refueled and departed again in under an hour. It was a welcome reminder of American efficiency, and I felt grateful to be flying in the US again!
Today’s Plans
Now that I’m back in the US, I’m planning to make my way across the country. Today, I’ll be heading to Texas, marking the halfway point across the country. From there, I’ll continue westward, eager to complete the final leg of my epic adventure.
