#29 – Sunny California

Yesterday, after 5 hours of flight time, I touched down at Van Nuys Airport (KVNY) in Los Angeles, California, marking my return to the Golden State. The journey back has been blessed with favorable weather, and yesterday was no exception – blue skies and smooth air accompanied me the entire way.

A Detour and a Glimpse of Military Might

Departing from Roswell was straightforward, but I had to take a slight detour north to avoid restricted areas. It seems the region is a hub for military training, with numerous exercises taking place. This brief diversion added a touch of intrigue to my flight.

Nature’s Sci-Fi Landscape

As I cruised through New Mexico and Arizona, the rugged landscape once again left me awestruck. The mountains, bathed in golden sunlight, transported me to a sci-fi movie set. The sheer scale and beauty of these natural wonders continue to inspire and humble me.

Human-Made Marvels

As I approached Los Angeles, I found myself captivated by the city’s human-made marvels – towering skyscrapers and intricate highway grids. The sheer ingenuity and complexity of these structures left me in wonder.

A Night to Remember

After securing Diana and a refreshing nap, I was ready to immerse myself in the local scene. A night of dancing and revelry was the perfect way to unwind, as the trip draws to a close. Mixed emotions swirl – sadness that the adventure is ending, gratitude for the experience, and relief at returning home safe and sound.
