#30 – Home Unfamiliar Home

Yesterday, after an incredible journey spanning almost two months and 150 hours of flight time, I landed safely back at Hayward, California (KHWD), home base of Diana and my haven.

A Bittersweet Return

The short 3-hour flight from Van Nuys felt almost surreal, a far cry from the long, arduous journeys I’d grown accustomed to. As I soared over the familiar terrain, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder – everything looked different, yet more breathtakingly beautiful.

Whirlwind of Emotions

As I push back Diana into the hangar, a smile arose on my lips, and a mix of emotions flooded my heart: pride in what we’d achieved, sadness that this awe-inspiring journey had come to an end, and a tinge of unfamiliarity. Though back home, everything felt different, not because things had changed, but because I had.

Reflections on an Epic Journey

As I settled into this newfound feeling, I reflected on the incredible experiences we’d shared: the breathtaking landscapes, the amazing people we’d met, each post I’d written, and every message of support. The sense of gratitude was overwhelming.
